About The Show

Roar is an eight story dark comedy anthology series on what it means to be a woman today. The series is based on a book of short stories by Cecelia Ahren of the same name. Carly Mensch and Liz Flahive (GLOW) are creators and co-showrunners. Nicole Kidman and Bruna Papandrea are the executive producers.

It offers an insightful and sometimes hilarious look at what it means to be a woman today. The show features a unique blend of realism, familiar domestic and professional scenarios and futuristic worlds.

Each installment speaks to the resilience of women on their respective journeys. Women eat photos, date ducks, live on shelves like trophies and yet their struggles are universal.

The Star-Studded Cast

In addition to being an executive producer, Nicole Kidman also stars in one of the stories. The Roar trailer highlights an award-winning cast of actors that star in each episode.
