Girls5Eva Season 2 Trailer
About Girls5Eva Season 2
Girls5Eva is a musical comedy on Peacock TV. It centers on a one-hit-wonder 1990s girl group called Girls5Eva. The members are Dawn (Sara Bareilles), Summer (Busy Philipps), Gloria (Paula Pell) and Wickie (Renée Elise Goldsberry).
The first season begins with the members reuniting to perform as a backup to rapper, Lil Stinker (Jeremiah Craft). Lil Stinker sampled their music and asked them to perform. This inspires them to get into show business again. But there are some challenges. The members are now all middle-aged trying to re-ignite their careers and balance the stresses of real life.
Dawn is a mom and wife who works at her brother’s Italian restaurant. She and her husband are trying to have another child. This could complicate her showbiz career’s future.
Wickie is a low-paid airport employee, trying to portray a glamorous life. For Wickie, her pride is holding her back from re-joining the group.
Summer is unhappy with her life. She lives with her daughter and former boyband member husband, Kev (Andrew Rannells).
Gloria, just divorced, is a dentist. To cope with the divorce, she has become a workaholic.
Finally, former band member Ashley, died in a freak infinity pool accident.
Despite what’s going on in their lives, they agree to get the band back together and live their dreams.
Dawn begins writing a new song for the group and they record a video. The video goes viral and they cut a deal with LGBTQ influencer Zander (Bowen Yang). A talent manager, Nance (Vanessa Williams) suggest they have solo careers to be more successful. They decide against it.
Their various jobs take them to the Jingle Ball. They defy the rules and perform their new song, Four Stars, and they get kicked out. As they leave, Gloria poses the idea that Ashley may have faked her own death. This brings us to season two.
Reunited, the girls decide to write and release an album on their own terms. But things may not go according to plan.
