About Avatar: The Way of Water
The long awaited teaser for the Avatar sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water, was publicly released earlier this week. It wowed fans last month when the teaser debuted at CinemaCon. The first Avatar was released in 2009 and quickly became the top-grossing film of all time worldwide.
Avatar revolutionized the 3D moviegoing experience and introduced new production tools and techniques such as performing capture and virtual production. It also earned nine Oscar nominations, including for Best Picture. The movie took home three Oscars for Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography and Best Director.
Needless to say, Avatar: The Way of Water is one of the most anticipated movies of the decade.
The Avatar: The Way of Water teaser features stunning visuals including floating mountains, underwater worlds and flying and floating creatures. It is set more than ten years after the first film. Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldaña reprise their roles as Jake Sully and Neytiri.
The movie tells the story of the Jake and Neytiri building a family, the lengths they go to keep each other safe and the battles they fight to stay alive.
Returning characters include Dr. Grace Augustine (Sigourney Weaver) and Colonel Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang). Joining the cast are Kate Winslet, Michelle Yeoh, Oona Chaplin and Vin Diesel.
