Day 1 of D23 Expo was packed with surprises as Disney unveiled exciting new trailers and the schedule for Walt Disney Studios, Walt Disney Animation and Pixar. Below is a recap of the new movies and shows that will debut beginning Fall 2022.

The new movie streaming exclusively on Disney+ will dive deeper into Wendy’s story as she joins Peter Pan in Neverland. She goes on many adventures and discovers the history behind Pan’s rivalry with Captain Hook.

Haunted Mansion
The Haunted Mansion movie is inspired by the Disneyland theme park attraction. It is about a woman and her son who hire supernatural experts to help rid their home of ghosts.

Mufasa: The Lion King
Mufuasa: The Lion King is a prequel to The Lion King. The movie is told in flashbacks from Rafiki, Timon and Pumbaa who share stories of Mufasa as a young lion cub.

Snow White
Snow White is a live-action reimagining of the classic Disney animated movie, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It stars Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as Snow White’s stepmother, the Queen.

The Little Mermaid is a live-action reimagining of the classic Disney animated movie, The Little Mermaid. It stars Halle Bailey as Ariel, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula and Javier Bardem as King Triton.

Elemental

Win or Lose
This new series streaming exclusively on Disney+ follows the Pickles, a co-ed middle school softball team. Each weekly episode will cover their time leading up the their championship game.

Elio
This movie is a story of an 11-year-old dreamer who finds it hard to fit it. He get beamed into spaced and is mistaken for an intergalactic Ambassador for Earth after his mother decodes a strange signal from outer space.

The sequel to Inside Out is a new adventure inside the head of now teenager Riley as she deals with all the feelings of puberty.
