Hellraiser Trailer
Just in time for Halloween, a cult classic horror movie gets a remake. A reboot of the 1987 movie, Hellraiser, is coming to Hulu on October 7, 2022. It’s apart of a series of movies and shows for Huluween. Hulu recently uploaded the trailer for Hellraiser and fans can’t wait.
In the trailer, Pinhead, played by Jamie Clayton, causes havoc for a young woman named Riley. She comes across an ancient puzzle box that summons the Cenobites. They are sadistic supernatural beings that come from another dimension led by Pinhead. While struggling with addiction, she must find a way to send the Cenobites back to their dimension.
There are a few changes from the original. First, the shape of the puzzle box isn’t a typical box. It morphs as different clues are solved finally releasing the blade allowing the box to “feed” to release the Cenobites. Next, Pinhead is a female. This aspect of the film is taken from Clive Barker’s novella The Hellbound Heart. This new take on the Hellraiser franchise could be just what it needs to spark life back into it. While he didn’t direct, this remake, Clive Barker did play some role of brining Hellraiser to Hulu. He served as a producer on the movie.
The director, David Bruckner, has a few horror movies under his belt with The Night House, The Ritual and V/H/S. As we can see from the Hellraiser trailer, expect to see plenty of creepy special effects and scares.
