Violent Night Trailer
We may have a new action star. And his name is Santa Claus. Universal Pictures released the first Violet Night trailer debuting in theaters on December 2, 2022.
Stranger Things’ David Harbour stars as Santa Claus. While out delivering presents to children around the world one Christmas Eve, he notices something wrong. A group of mercenaries have broken into the home of a wealthy family and are holding them hostage. The leader, John Leguizamo, and the other members are about to find what happens to those who end up on the naughty list.
Other stars in the film include Edi Patterson, Cam Giandent, Alex Hassell, Alexis Louder and Beverly D’Angelo.
The director is no stranger to holiday horror. Norwegian director, Tommy Wirkola, is the director of the Dead Snow franchise and Netflix’s What Happened to Monday. With an R rating, expect there to be a lot of action from the not so saint Nick. As we can see from the trailer, there will be plenty of gruesome fight scenes between Santa and the mercenaries.
The screenplay written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller was acquired by Universal Pictures in March 2020. They are the brain child of the Sonic the Hedgehog films. With the producers, 87North, expect the film to live up to its R rating. Their works include John Wick and Bullet Train.
Following the release of the trailer, an exclusive screening will be at the Empire Stage for the attendees at New York Comic Con on October 7, 2022. Everyone will be able to see it in theaters December 2. In the meantime, check out what other movies are in theaters while you wait.
