The Company You Keep Trailer
ABC recently released the new trailer for their new series The Company You Keep. Based on the Korean Broadcasting System series My Fellow Citizens, the show follows a con-man and an undercover CIA agent who fall in love after a night of passion. However, neither knows each other’s day jobs.
Catherine Haena Kim plays Emma. She’s a talented agent who spends her days chasing after dangerous criminals. Due to the sensitive nature of her job, she doesn’t let people know what she does for a living. On the other hand, Charlie (Milo Ventimiglia), has a gift for grift. Let’s just say his “gift” runs in the family. He’s working to pay off his debt to a powerful criminal family. In fact, she is hunting the same family Charlie is involved with.
One night at a bar their paths cross. Although attracted to each other, neither reveals the truth about themselves. Emma says she is a former pageant queen who is a rocket scientist. While Charlie claims he is a yoga instructor. This is before jokingly pretending to reveal the truth about each other. They continue to flirt and a night of passions leads to a love between the two. They fall in love before realizing they are natural enemies. What could go wrong?
The trailer doesn’t reveal much about the plot. But I’m sure there will be plenty of drama. Let alone the fact that they will spend their evenings unknowingly chasing after each other. As their worlds begin to collide, they must reckon with the lies they’ve told and deal with the consequences if they are found out.
Who’s In The Company You Keep?
Along side Ventimiglia, are William Fichtner and Polly Draper as Charlie’s parents, Leo and Fran. Emma’s parents are played by James Saito and Freda Foh Shen as Joseph and Grace. Rounding out Emma’s family is Tim Chiou portaying David. Finally a person with a connection to both Emma and Charlie is Daphne (Felisha Terrell), a dangerous consultant to the Irish mob.
The Company You Keep premieres February 19, 2023 on ABC at 10/9c. In addition, it will stream next day on Hulu.
