The Meg 2: The Trench Trailer
If you thought one was not enough in 2018’s The Meg, Warner Bros. has amped up the stakes. Jason Statham is back to hunt down not one, not two, but three Megalodons in the larger-than-life The Meg 2: The Trench trailer.
In the previous film, Jason Statham (Jonas Taylor) and Li Bingbing (Suyin) explore the Marianas Trench where they accidentally unleash a seventy foot ancestor of the great white shark, the Megalodon, believed to be extinct. Now four years later, Jonas is back with a research team who unleash a slew of monsters while mining a trench. This is what happens when you mess with mother nature. You introduce extinct, prehistoric creatures onto the world that could wipe out civilization.
As with the first film, don’t expect some serious movie about plundering our planet. Both movies are a fun thrill ride that’s meant to be the ultimate thrill rush. In fact, the first few seconds of the trailer shows you exactly what to expect. Although, I was not expecting a Megalodon to eat a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
If you didn’t see The Meg, I highly suggest checking it out. I loved it. When I heard they were producing a sequel, I couldn’t wait. If you like the type of action in the Fast Saga, you’ll love The Meg. You can rent it on Redbox or Prime Video as well as watch it on Hulu.
The Meg 2: The Trench swims to theaters August 4, 2023.
