FUBAR Trailer
For the first time ever, Arnold Schwarzenegger is starring in a new television show on Netflix, FUBAR. And of course, when I saw the FUBAR trailer, it was an action comedy. He’s back still kicking ass, except this time with his daughter? It brings a whole new meaning to Take Tour Daughter to Work Day.
If you don’t know, FUBAR means Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition. That should tell you exactly how the new series will be. Arnold stars as Luke Brunner. He’s a CIA operative on his way to retirement. However, right before his retirement, he is assigned to one last mission. His final mission is to save an operative who is deep undercover. It turns out the operative is his daughter. They must learn to work together despite just finding out they are both spies.
Watching the FUBAR trailer, I definitely got True Lies vibes with a twist. According to Arnold, “Everywhere I go, people ask me when I’m going to do another big action comedy like True Lies. Well, here it is.”
For many of us, we grew up watching Arnold. From Conan: The Barbarian to Predator to The Terminator, we’ve seen a ripped, stoic action figure who takes no prisoners. Before becoming governor of California, he began to take more light hearted roles. Movies like Twins, Kindergarten Cop and True Lies, he provided us with a little more range with his comedy. These movies have spawned countless sequels and tv shows. With series, it looks like he’s picking back up where he left off.
Besides starring in the new show, Arnold serves as executive producer. Along side his is Monica Barbaro as his daughter Emma. Rounding out the cast is Milan Carter, Travis Van Winkle, Fabiana Udenio, Jay Baruchel, Aparna Brielle, Andy Buckley, Barbara Eve Harris and Gabriel Luna.
Find out how things get “totally FUBAR” when the action-comedy spy series, FUBAR, premieres on Netflix on May 25, 2023. Be sure to tune into the Netflix docuseries, Arnold, following his inspiring story.
