About The Twin

The Twin is a psychological horror movie coming to theaters and Shudder. It centers on a grieving mother, Rachel (Teresa Palmer), who has just lost her son.

Rachel, her husband, Anthony (Steven Cree), and son Elliot move their family from New York to Finland. They are grieving the loss of Elliot’s twin brother Nathan. He has recently died in a car accident. Rachel is struggling with the loss and it’s taking a toll on her and the family. Her husband hopes the move will help her.

While out exploring his new home, Elliot discovers a wall that grant wishes and secretly makes a wish. Elliot begins acting strangely. He begins to talk to an invisible person, staring at Rachel while she’s in the bed in the middle of the night and claims that he is Nathan.

The town throws the family a welcoming party where she meets the town doctor, Helen (Barbara Marten). Rachel unsuccessfully attempts to get Helen to help Elliot. Helen finally reveals that the town is part of a satanic cult and about Elliot’s wish. Rachel must now do what she can to save her surviving son.

The Twin was written and produced by Taneli Mustonen and Aleksi Hyvärinen and directed by Mustonen. The project won the best fiction award at Finnish Film Affair and best project at the BIFAN development forum in Korea.
