American Born Chinese Trailer
A reclusive teenager, Jin Wang, juggles his high school life with his immigrant home life. All of a sudden, he is thrust into a world of Chinese mythological gods when he meets a new student.
Based on the graphic novel, American Born Chinese, by Gene Luen Yang, it tells the story of Jin Wang. Jin is leading an ordinary life when he meets Wei-Chen, a new foreign student, on the first day of school. Jin is the only Chinese-American born student at his school. As a result, he and Wei-Chen form a strong bond.
Soon their his become complicated when his life collides with another world. He is unwittingly entangled in a battle of Chinese mythological gods. With two worlds in the balance, there can only be one destiny.
An all star cast brings the show to life with many from Everything Everywhere All At Once. The cast includes Ben Wang, Yeo Yann Yann, Chin Han, Ke Huy Quan, Jimmy Liu, Sydney Taylor, Daniel Wu, Michelle Yeoh and Stephanie Hsu.
The first episode of American Born Chinese premieres exclusively on Disney+ on May 24, 2023.
