Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Trailer
Today, Marvel Studios dropped he first trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. This marks the third chapter of the Ant-Man saga and kicks off Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The movie has brought back the entire Ant-Man crew with a few additions. Paul Rudd and Hope Van Dyne reprise their roles as Scott Lang and Evangeline Lilly (Ant-Man and Wasp). Returning as Hope’s parents are Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer. A new addition to the cast is Kathryn Newton who will play an older Cassie Lang. There’s even a cameo of Bill Murray in the trailer.
The Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania trailer starts off pretty upbeat. Scott is receiving an award for “Employee of the Century” at his former job Baskin Robbins. He’s walking red carpet with Hope and waving at fans. Suddenly things take a turn when everyone gets sucked into a satellite created by Cassie. They find themselves in a secret underground universe. It’s filled with strange aliens, beasts and scenery. This is the universe of Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors). He offers the heroes a way home if they agree to help him.
The character first appeared at the end of season two of Loki. In the series, he was known as He Who Remains. His superpower is controlling time. Is this the same person? To keep the timelines from colliding, it was revealed in Loki that He Who Remains was blocking his variants from conquering multiverse. It is suspected that the Kang in Ant-Man is a variant. This version of Kang looks much scarier, darker variant.
Since Kang can control time, this makes him a formidable villain for the heroes. Much like Thanos, he will be a force to be reckoned with. He most assuredly will be the villain in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty coming in 2025. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will hit movie theaters on February 17, 2023.
