Downton Abbey: A New Era is a sequel to the 2019 movie Downton Abbey and based on the television series of the same name. All three follow the lives of the Crawley family and their servants.
About Downton Abbey
Downton Abbey is set in 1927 in the fictional Yorkshire country estate of Downton Abbey. The Crawleys receive word the King George V and Queen Mary intend to visit during their tour. Excited both the family and the staff prepare for their arrival. When the royal company arrives, they class with the house staff. Scandal, romance and intrigue ensues leaving the future of Downton Abbey hanging in the balance.
About Downton Abbey: A New Era
Cut to a year later. The Crawleys and the staff have survived the royal visit. The estate has fallen into disarray and they need money to fix it up. Reluctantly, the Lady Mary accept an offer from the British Lion production company to film a new movie using their house as a location.
Meanwhile, Lady Grantham announces that she has inherited a villa in the south of France. It was gifted to her by an old flame. His widow contests, so she dispatches her son, his wife, her grandfathers and a few other to sort it out.
With the Crawleys, the house staff and a cinema staff at Downton Abbey, there will be plenty of drama, romance and chaos. Add to that the mystery of the newly inherited villa, this movie will be quite interesting.
