Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai Trailer

There are three simple rules you must follow. First, don’t expose the mogwai to light, especially sunlight. Second, don’t let it come into contact with water. Finally, never feed them after midnight. If you are a child of the 80s, you know these rules. Who wasn’t a Gremlins fan. Now a new generation has a chance to experience this phenomenon with the releases of the Gremlin: Secrets of the Mogwai trailer from Max.

The original Gremlins movie debuted in theaters the summer of 1984. It took the world by storm. We were introduced to Gizmo, the three sacred rules and what happens when you break them. For his birthday, Randall Peltzer buys his son a pet. Gizmo is a friendly and loving until water is accidentally spilled on him. As a result, new more evil mogwai spawn from Gizmo, Gremlins.

With the new series, we are transported back to the 1920s. We meet 10 year old, Sam Wing. For those of you who don’t remember, he grows up to be Mr. Wing. Mr. Wing is the owner of the antique shop where Randall bought Gizmo.

Sam embarks on a journey through the Chinese countryside to take Gizmo home. He is accompanied by a teenage street thief named Ellie. While on their new adventures, the trio encounter monsters and spirits from Chinese folklore. In addition, they are being pursued by a power-hungry industrialist and his growing army of evil Gremlins. Looking at the Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai trailer, the Gremlins will be wrecking havoc just as they did in the 1984 film and its sequel.

The first episode of Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai premieres on Max (formally HBO Max) as part of their official lineup on May 23, 2023.
