Grimcutty Trailer
Grimcutty is the latest movie to released as part of Hulu’s Huluween series. It’s a new horror movie following the footsteps of The Bababook and Slenderman. And with this day and age, the new film involves a group of teenagers.
Since Stranger Things, it seems that almost all movies and TV shows display some sort of child or teenager in trouble. Mike Flanagan’s The Midnight Club centers around teenagers in hospice care. It follows a group of kids trying to defeat a killer clown. What a way to show how vulnerable we are than with kids. It brings us back to a feeling of being scared when we were kids.
In the Grimcutty trailer, we see parents in a small town griped with fear. They are convinced an internet meme is causing their children to harm themselves. Much like the 2019 Momo Challenge, creepy images of a monster have gone viral amongst teens on YouTube and TikTok. Although the Momo Challenge was a hoax, Grimcutty may not be.
We see the power of the creature when a young boys stabs his mother with a kitchen knife. This events kicks off the paranoia in town. During the second half of the trailer, the next victim is seen running through the house trying to elude the monster. But he disappears when her parents arrive. This deepens the paranoia because the parents can’t see the monster. They think it’s all in the kids heads as a dare to harm themselves and others.
It seems like it may be a fun horror movie to watch. The movie was written and directed by John William Ross and developed and produced by 20th Digital Studio. Starring in the film are Usman Allu, Shannyn Sossamon, Alona Tal and Kayden Koshalev.
Catch Grimcutty exclusively on Hulu on October 10, 2022. If you’re looking for other Halloween shows, check out our October premiere list.
