Most of the time, Halloween is about costumes, decorations and candy. But this Halloween belongs to the streamers. Now, in its fifth year, Hulu has turned Halloween into Huluween. Watch classic horror movies, spin-tingling show and horrifying originals.
Huluween kicks off with the premiere of Huluween Dragstravaganza. Hosted by Ginger Minj and Monét X Change, this variety show showcases a troupe of iconic queens who perform original music numbers, sketch comedy and more. The premise, they two hosts are trapped in the TV and the only way out is with the help of their friends. It will stream on Hulu on October 1, 2022. To watch the trailer, click here.
Also premiering on October 1, is the third season of Bite Size Halloween. This show features 21 new shorts that explore different areas of the horror genre. Expect to see familiar faces such as Tatiana Maslany, Misha Osherovich, Bridgette Lundy-Paine and more. Several of these previous shorts have been turned into feature films this year.
First on the list to be released is Grimcutty on October 10, 2022. Grimcutty is a scary internet meme that causes panic amongst the parents in a town. They are convinced it’s making their kids harm themselves and others. The parents of one teen, Asha Chaudry, think she is cutting herself as part of a challenge. Asha has to convince them that it’s not her, but a real version of Grimcutty. She has to figure out how to get through to her parents while stopping Grimcutty once and for all. Next on the list is Matriarch. It premieres on October 21, 2022. After an almost fatal overdose, Laura Birch accepts an invitation from her mother to come back home to escape her high-pressure job. She hopes the time away will help calm her the demons inside of her. But she soon discovers an unspeakable secret that involves her and her mother. To watch the trailer, click here.
A cult classic gets a new look this year. Hulu has a new take on Clive Barker’s 1987 horror classic, Hellraiser. The film is about a woman struggling with addiction who finds an ancient puzzle box. She opens the box unaware its purpose is to summon the Cenobites. They are a group of sadistic supernatural beings from another dimension bent on destruction.
The Huluween hub will continue to stream shows for every type of Halloween content. Box office hits like Antlers (10/11), The Rocky Horror Picture Show (10/1), The Sixth Sense (10/1), Monster House (10/1) and the Blade trilogy will stream. Look for classic TV series such as American Horror Stories, The X-Files, SurrealEstate and What We Do in the Shadows. Other Hulu originals such as A Sinister Halloween Scary Opposites Solar Special, The Paloni Show! Halloween Special and Abandoned.
