Let the Right One In Trailer
Let the Right One In follows a father and his 12-year-old daughter who has been turned into a vampire. This changes the course of their lives. Now, he has a new set of unique challenges raising a daughter that will forever be 12 years old. It is based on the 2004 Swedish book of the same name. The book was later adapted to a Swedish movie in 2008.
The film was highly regarded. It spawned an American remake in 2010 called Let Me In starring Chloë Grace Moretz. The new series follows the same storyline of the book and movie. Except, since the concept is a series, the relationship between the father and daughter can fully be explored. It is one of the most anticipated shows for October.
In the show, it has been 10 years since Eleanor (Madison Taylor Baez) has been turned into a vampire. Her father, Mark (Demián Bichir), keep her confined. She is only able to do out at night while her father seek out human blood. In the Let the Right One In trailer, you see a glimpse of what Mark must do to keep her alive. He is willing to make moral compromises to help his daughter.
While in New York City seeking a cure, Eleanor befriends a boy named Isaiah (Ian Foreman). They communicate using Morse code through the wall. While out getting blood, thing’s go wrong for Eleanor’s father. It draws attention to missing person reports and attempted assaults in the area. With her father being hunted by the police, Eleanor must look for food on her own. The premise of the movie begs the question, “How far are you willing to go to keep your child safe?” It’s a weighted question.
This is the story of a father and his daughter and all the obstacles they have to conquer and overcome in order to keep themselves alive … to me, this story goes beyond any vampire story. To me, this is about many other things that we’re actually experiencing. It’s about how difficult it is in any society for anyone to be different and to try to fit in.
– Demián Bichir from an Entertainment Weekly interview
