M3GAN Trailer

Move over Chucky and Annabelle, there’s a new murderous doll in town. Universal Pictures just released the trailer for M3GAN. What would you expect from Blumhouse and James Wan. Blumhouse has a plethora of horror movies produced under their belt. Wan is best known for the Saw, Insidious and Conjuring franchises. The movie is based on a story by Wan and Akela Cooper. Cooper is responsible for last year’s Malignant.

What is M3GAN about?

A young girl, Cady played by Haunting of Hill House‘s Violet McGraw has just lost her parents in a car crash. She moves in with her aunt Gemma (Allison Williams, Get Out). Gemma works as a roboticist at a toy company. Because she’s still struggling with the loss of her parents, Gemma decides to program an artificial intelligent doll to be Cady’s companion. M3GAN is designed to watch, listen ad learn so she can be a friend, teacher, playmate and protector for the child she’s bonded to.

Things seem to be going great between Cady and M3GAN. They are bonding, playing and dancing together. But a colleagues of Gemma have some concerns. They feel the connection the two share may be too close. This is where things take a turn for the worse.

M3GAN won’t shut down during an argument after Gemma order her to. She literally on her hands and knees chasing a bully like an animal. There’s suspicions that she pushed the bully in front of a car for hurting Cady. And let’s not forget the dance moves she performs before murdering her prey. And yes, she should do the dance before murdering anyone. The second half of the trailer show exactly what M3GAN will do to protect Cady. She’s refusing commands, killing people with a heavy duty paper cutter blade and blowing stuff up. If she thinks you are a threat to Cady, you will be dealt with.

In addition to the cast, Amie Donald provides the likeness for M3GAN and Jenna Davis provides the voice. Besides Williams and McGraw are Ronny Chieng, Brian Jordan Alvarez, Jen Van Epps, Lori Dungey and Stephanie Garneau-Monten.
