September may mark the beginning of the Fall TV season, but October will be host to the most anticipated shows this year. This year most of the shows will debut on streaming services. Since the pandemic, streaming services have grown in popularity. Even the Emmys have been dominated by shows from streaming services.
This year is no exception. Eleven of the fifteen shows we will discuss are from services like Netflix, Prime Video, Showtime, etc. Below are the first eight of the most anticipated new shows of October 2022.

Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire
Probably the most anticipated of the shows is Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire. This remake of the 1994 movie of the same name, is a little different. There are a few changes. The show is set in New Orleans, Claudia is 14 years old and Louis is African American. But the plot stays true to Anne Rice’s books. While in the series, there will be less horror than the movie, it is a show you will not want to miss. Interview with the Vampire debuts on AMC and AMC+ on October 2, 2022.
Alaska Daily
Alaska Daily is a new show debuting on ABC on October 6, 2022. It will also be available next day on Hulu. The series featuring Hilary Swank revolves around an investigative journalist who is looking for a fresh start. She packs her bags and moves from New York City to Anchorage, Alaska. The new mystery she is investigating may be the way to redeem both her personal and professional life. With the depth of the character and the story line, it’s easy to see why you’ll want to check it out.
Walker: Independence
If you love westerns, you’ll love this Walker spin-off. Walker: Independence takes place in the late 1800s. Premiering on The CW on October 6, 2022, the show follows Walker’s ancestor Abigail Walker. She is on a quest to avenge the death of her husband in the town of Independence. Hoyt Rawlins, a gambler and outlaw, to travel from her affluent home in Boston to help her in her journey.
A Friend of The Family
A Friend of the Family is a limited series by Peacock debuting on October 6, 2022. It’s based on a true story of the Broberg family. Their daughter, Jan, was kidnapped multiple times over a years by a friend of the family who is obsessed with her. The show dives deep into the experience of each family member and helps us understand how something like this can happen. Whether you’re familiar with the story or not, it’s definitely worth watching.
Fire County
This highly anticipated CBS drama follows inmates who are paired with elite firefighters to extinguish massive wildfires across the region. Bode Donovan (Max Thieriot), a young convict, and other inmates are seeking redemption. They join a prison release firefighting program in Northern California to reduce their prison sentence. The show is inspired by Max Thieriot’s experiences growing up in California’s Fire Country. It premieres on October 7, 2022.
The Midnight Club
Mike Flanagan, the man behind The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor and Midnight Mass, is back. His latest Netflix series is based on Christopher Pike’s novel, Midnight Club. It follows young, eight terminally-ill patients who gather each night at midnight to tell scary stores. As they look for evidence of the supernatural, they promise that if one of them dies, they will communicate with the rest of them from the beyond. I love all three of Flanagan’s previous series. I will definitely be watching this one. Midnight Club premieres on Netflix on October 7, 2022.
Let The Right One In
Showtime’s new show is based off the original Swedish film, which is based off the book, Let the Right One In. It follows a father and his daughter is has turned into a vampire. He does everything he can to keep her alive. Now a series, the story can go into more detail about the relationship between the father and daughter that the movies could not do. The show premieres on Showtime on October 7, 2022.
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War
For my Anime fans, this is what we’ve been waiting for, the return of Bleach. It has been 10 years since the show was canceled in March 2012. But the supernatural, action series is back. Ichigo and his friends have enjoyed peace but now a new threat has emerged. The Soul Reapers will battle the Yhwach in the next arc. It will be released on Crunchyroll on October 10, 2022. Both sub and dub versions will be available.
