Platonic Trailer
Former best friends reconnect and try to fix the rift that led to their falling out in the trailer for the new Apple TV+ series, Platonic. The show reunites Emmy and Golden Globe nominees Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen with director Nick Stoller following their collaboration on the Neighbors films.
Bryne plays Sylvia. As an adult Sylvia is now married. She has to explain her relationship with her former best friends to her husband, Charlie Greeves (Luke Macfarlane). “It’s embarrassing being a mess in front of you, she says. “And Will’s a much bigger mess than I am.” As expected, he doesn’t take it too well.
On the other hand, Will, played by Seth Rogan, must convince his friends that men and women can be friends. And they can be friends without any romantic involvement. “There’s lots of famous men and women friends,” says Will. “Laura Dern and Sam Neill in Jurassic Park.” Needless to say, his friends aren’t buying it.
As we can see from the Platonic trailer, their lives begin to destabilize in hilarious ways as spend more time together. The first season will consist of 10 half-hour episodes. The first three episodes will debut on Apple TV+ Wednesday, May 24, 2023. New episodes will air weekly, every Wednesday.
