About Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles

Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles is a new animated show on Netflix based on the comic book series Usagi Yojimbo by Stan Sakai. The series centers around a teenage rabbit, Samurai Yuichi. She is a decendent of the great warrior Miyamoto Usagi.

Yuichi is on a quest to become a true samurai. He leads a team of misfit heroes defending the city of Neo Edo from the menace of Kagehito and the Yokai. They are all in pursuit to become the best samurai. Learn more about the characters below.

Usagi

Usagi is a sixteen year old rabbit with dreams of becoming a samurai. He has a long way to learn how to rein in his impulsiveness. He’s fearless and fiercely loyal.

Auntie

Auntie is Usagi’s aunt. She raised him and is hesitant to let her nephew live his dreams. When she finally accepts his destiny, she gives him a family sword.

Gen

Gen is a bounty hunter in search of criminals in Neo Edo. He is tough as long as he doesn’t get a scratch or a cut.

Kitsune

Kitsune is a fox who is gifted a pickpocketing. This makes her helpful when it comes to fighting enemies.

Chizu

Chizu is an undercover ninja working as a spy Lady Fuwa, the leader of the Neko Ninja Crew. But thanks to the power of friendship, the is no longer working for the bad guys.

Tetsujin

Tetsujin is a wise temple leader who can transform into a flying green spirit.

Spot

Spot is Usagi’s pet dinosaur and loyal companion.

Kagehito

Kageito is the central villain in the show after Usagi accidentally releases him. He plans to defeat Neo Edo before the Neko Ninja Crew can.

Yokai

Yokai are spirit energies scattered around the city. They can take the shape of people and everyday objects. Sometimes, they appear at the worst possible time or appear to taunt people. They can be good or bad depending on how they are treated.

Lord Kogane

Lord Kogane is the egotistical ruler of Neo Edo.
