The Midnight Club Trailer
The Midnight Club is Mike Flanagan’s newest Halloween series. He is the mastermind behind The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor and Midnight Mass for Netflix. This is fourth anthology series for the show. Streaming on exclusively Netflix on October 7, 2022. Similar to American Horror Story, Flanagan produces haunting new stories each year for Netflix. But Netflix is not his only playground. He responsible for horror movies such as Oculus, Before I Wake, Gerald’s Game and Doctor Sleep. He’s currently working on The Fall of the House of Usher based on Edgar Allan Poe’s short story.
What is The Midnight Club About?
The series is based on the 1994 Christopher Pike book of the same name. The series centers around a group of terminally ill teenage patients at the Rotterdam Home. It is run by a mysterious doctor named Dr. Georgina Stanton. They are obsessed with the supernatural and want to prove its existence. As they gather at midnight to tell scary stories, they make a pact to contact the other from beyond the grave if one of them dies. Shortly there after, one of the patients succumbs to their illness. Soon, strange things begin to happen in the home.
The Midnight Club Cast
Dr. Georgina Stanton
Heather Langenkamp plays Dr. Stanton. Langenkamp famous for her portrayal of Nancy in the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. She oversees the facility and the care of the patients.
Ilonka
Leading the cast as Ilonka is Iman Benson, best know in #BlackAF. Smart and driven, Ilonka has plans for the future. However those dreams are altered when she receives a terminal diagnosis. Her determination to survive leads her to Brightcliffe. Due to her being a new addition to the facility, she must share a room with Anya. She hopes to find a miraculous cure.
Anya
The fiercest of the bunch is Anya. Portrayed by Ruth Codd, Anya is a rebel without a cause. She is a lower-leg amputee in a wheelchair who recently immigrated from Ireland. She may be tough on the outside, but inside she’s a softy.
Kevin
Igby Rigney (Midnigh Mass) plays the former high school athlete, Kevin. He feels a cosmic connection with Ilonka. He’s supportive and has a tendency of putting his own needs last.
Spencer
After receiving his HIV diagnosis, William Chris Sumpter’s character, Spencer, must come out the closet. His pious parents kick him out. After a friend learns about his predicament, he brings Spencer to Brightcliffe. Even with his trauma, he’s still the life of the party.
Natsuki
Aya Furukawa’s (The Baby-Sitters Club) character, Natsuki, is a creative soul with vivid stories. Being no stranger to hard times, she openly talks about her struggles with mental health.
Sandra
Being deeply religious, Sandra (Annarah Cymone, Midnight Mass) uses her faith to cope with her illness. This causes her to butt heads with the other patients. But she has her own way of showing she cares.
Amesh
Always ready to crack a joke, Amesh (Sauriyan Sapkota), is a video game nerd with a kind heart. He is always looking for ways to help others and help completing his bucket list.
Cheri
The daughter of Hollywood stars, Cheri (Adia) has led a privileged life. Growing up in comfort and isolation, she has a hard time bonding with the group. Because of her diagnosis, her parents send her to Brightcliffe.
