Thor: Love and Thunder Teaser

The Thor: Love and Thunder trailer is the first teaser for the movie from Marvel Studios. It has arrived and offers long awaited clues for what’s in store for the God of Thunder.

At the end of Avengers Endgame, Thor left Earth with the Guardians of the Galaxy. At the beginning of the Thor: Love and Thunder teaser, we Thor as a member of the Guardians. However, something isn’t quite right.

These hands were once used for battle, now they’re humble tools for peace. Now I need to figure out exactly who I am.

Thor

He finds himself on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. Thor starts his weight loss training, gets a new outfit and sets out to find his own path. Unfortunately, his quest is interrupted when a galactic killer, Gorr the God Butcher (Christain Bale), seeks the extension of the gods.

To combat the threat, he enlists the help of his of King Valkyrie, Korg and his ex-girlfriend, Jane Foster. First he finds Korg (Taika Waititi) and sets off across the galaxy to find the others. Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) has become the ruler of New Asgard and Foster (Natalie Portman) has a new look. Foster is now Mighty Thor. She calls Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir, which is magically been pieced back together.

The team must uncover why the God Butcher wants revenge and stop him before it’s too late. We don’t see Bale as the God Butcher in the trailer. However, he is described as a scarred galactic killer who wields a “strange and terrifying” sword.

It’s based on Jason Aaron’s critically acclaimed comic book “The Mighty Thor.” In the comic, Foster has ended her relationship with Thor. She becomes a superhero after the hammer, Mjolnir, deems Thor unworthy and strips him of his power. Using this power comes at a cost. Everytime Foster wields the hammer, her breast cancer becomes worse and worse. It’s unsure if this plot will be used in the movie.

Returning as director is Taika Waititi. Waititi convinced Natalie Portman to return to the franchise after she was unhappy with her character in Thor: The Dark World.
