Werewolf By Night Trailer
On Day 2 of D23 Expo 2022, Kevin Feige took the stage to share a surprise trailer for Werewolf By Night. It is the first ever special presentation created for this Halloween by Marvel Studios that Fiege called “fun-scary.” The show will be released on October 7, 2022 on Disney+.
It is the directorial debut of composer Michael Giacchino. He wrote the scores for Spider-Man: No Way Home, The Batman and more. The Academy Award-winning composer has also composed many of Disney’s films, including The Incredibles, Up and Thor: Love and Thunder. He was joined on stage by stars, Gael García Bernal and Laura Donnelly, to help share their spooky new trailer.
García Bernal will play the main character, Jack Russell. In the comics, Russell is from Transylvania and a descended of a long line of werewolves. Donnelly plays the immortal monster-hunter, Elsa Bloodstone.
The Werewolf By Night trailer homage to old-school horror movies. The trailer is in black and white with a dramatic voice over and ominous music. The title card screams classic horror. The cigarette burns, skipping footage and freeze frames are reminiscent of horror movies made in the 30s and 40s. It aims to evoke a since of dread and macabre with plenty of suspense and scares.
